See work such as a stunning slide triptych by Tracey Weiss;\u00a0 archival pigment prints such as <em>Sacred Steel<\/em> by Diane Cockerill, and <em>Boy on Trike &#8211; Niland, CA<\/em>\u00a0by Osceola Refetoff. While Weiss is working in sculptural form, all three artists are using photographic materials to create works that are astonishingly fresh, vivid, and meaningful.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/diversionsla.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Muz-9.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7785\" src=\"http:\/\/diversionsla.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Muz-9.jpg\" alt=\"Muz 9\" width=\"720\" height=\"960\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.diversionsla.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Muz-9.jpg 720w, https:\/\/www.diversionsla.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Muz-9-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.diversionsla.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Muz-9-648x864.jpg 648w, https:\/\/www.diversionsla.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Muz-9-144x192.jpg 144w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Catherine Ruane&#8217;s astonishing graphite and charcoal work depicting the flora and fauna of the natural world as always amazes with detail and passion, here with <em>Gargoyle<\/em>. Here, the rich aqua of the water contrasts with a dark sky and dark trees. Randi Matushevitz&#8217; <em>Dive In<\/em>, is a mixed media work that also evokes both darkness and light, with floating faces a potent metaphor for life itself.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/diversionsla.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Muz-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7777\" src=\"http:\/\/diversionsla.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Muz-1.jpg\" alt=\"Muz 1\" width=\"720\" height=\"960\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.diversionsla.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Muz-1.jpg 720w, https:\/\/www.diversionsla.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Muz-1-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.diversionsla.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Muz-1-648x864.jpg 648w, https:\/\/www.diversionsla.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Muz-1-144x192.jpg 144w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We continue to be impressed with Scott A. Trimble, above, here with a somewhat ghostly, almost ethereal figure in <em>The wants of true #empathy<\/em>. Glenn Waggner&#8217;s oil on panel\u00a0<em>Pigs in Bumper Cars<\/em>, charms with a surreal edge; while Steven Fujimoto&#8217;s mixed media <em>Scratch Built<\/em> is an impressive large sculptural work that defies easy categorization. Bryan Ida&#8217;s vibrant acrylic enamel and urethane abstract, <em>China Basin<\/em>\u00a0(below) and Campbell Laird&#8217;s shimmery <em>Rain dream gray no.1, 016<\/em>, a resin film print are also stand outs.
